Brooklyn Bridge In The Fall

The Brooklyn Bridge one of the most famous structures in the world is also infamous in the lives it cost to build including it's designer John A. Roebling. It's Neo-Gothic cable suspension was completed by Washington Roebling the son. In all twenty- seven men lost their lives during construction to include John A. Roebling, from injury during survey of bridge by a ferry that crushed his toes. The injury caused a tetanus infection which resulted in his death. Washington Roebling was placed in charge of construction to it's completion. It opened for crossing on May 24,1833.
