queensland is on a par with brazil with land clearing at the moment and this is near my place where I have such special animals like the spotted quoll in one of their last refuges because of the invasion of the cane toad (bufo marinus), an introduced species which the quoll will eat and die from the poison of the toad. as yet the toad has not invaded this region and along with the quoll many other animals face extinction. such an environment could be used to study the before the toad arrived.
