This photo was taken in my tiny home office space in Sydney Australia, i am a complete amateur Photographer, love a challenge when taking photos, and simply do it soley as a hobby that’s what I enjoy.Time
The day I decided to give this shot a go, It was a freezing miserable morning I decided to set up the equipment after I had dropped the kids at school, i figured no better time then inside weather, house to myself, clear head, = great opportunity to try something differentLighting
The lighting was the most challenging part of this photo, archiving the pure blackened background, and reflection of the glass it took a few tries. And many different light sources but it was actually 2 camping lanterns that did the job for this image.Equipment
This photo was taken using a Nikon d610, 50mm lens, on a tripod, with 2 lights either side of the glass, and the background was just cardboard from the back of my daughters school project. Where there is a will there is a way.Inspiration
That morning I was actually in traffic at a red light and a large vegetable advertisement sign on the back of a bus caught my eye except it was a of photo with potatoes and a pot, I guess then I was intrigued to how did the photographer got that shot. And my day began from that...Editing
Being a complete amateur, when this photo was taken I didn’t know the first thing about post processing, due to my capabilities the Only thing I could do was to make the cardboard background darker than it first was initially which just made the photo pop.In my camera bag
I won’t leave home without my Nikon d610 camera, 50mm, and 70-300mm lens and I always make sure I carry spare charged batteries, (lesson learned) ...hmmm I think it’s time to write a Wish list for some extra new photography gear.Feedback
The only things that comes to mind that I learned while taking this photo is number 1 due to reflection of light/flash photographing a wine glass is a real bitch... and number 2 it was messy so have a towel it took a lot of water refills and drops of the strawberry to get the look how I wanted it, persevere you have unlimited attempts. Good luck
