Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my backyard.

Time

I believe this photo was taken sometime in the afternoon, most likely around 6 when the shadows start casting across my yard. I tend to go outside then since its my favorite time of the day.

Lighting

Like I said in response to the last question, my favorite time to sit out back with my camera is around golden hour. My cat usually likes to venture out with me as well.

Equipment

I used my Canon M3 with the kit lens, a 18-55mm.

Inspiration

My favorite photos that ive ever taken were ones that are spontanious, out of nowhere, and the ones I don’t expect to love before I check my SD card later. This is one of those photos that I randomly shot with no context whatsoever.

Editing

Another thing about my pictures is that I tend not to do much editing on them (unless its necessary). This was an example of a poorly-lit and colored photo that I ended up switching to B&W but loving it that way.

In my camera bag

I always keep my Canon M3 with the kit lens, my film camera that I bought for $15 on Depop, and my Polaroid Instax camera, along with a snack of course!

Feedback

Take as many photos as you possibly can. Try as many angles as possible, even if they seem like they dont make sense at the time. Its O.K. to take pictures on Auto (and muchh easier). Have FUN! And send me your cat pictures! :)
