Location
I like outdoors and mountaineering, so I joined the Mountain Rescue Team. The photo was take while patroling in the mountains.Time
It was the first snow that year. so I took the camera with me. Usually, my dog (which is a trained avalanche dog) is quite comfortable, remaining near me. But when it's about snow, is like a kid, going crazy all around... That day, after playing with snowballs for some time, he sat douwn, keeping his attention focused on what I was doing. It was in the sunset, probably between 16:30 - 17:00hrs.Lighting
I would have taken this picture in any lighting conditions. The orange light just made it look much better.Equipment
This was taken with a Canon 6D, with a 70-200 lens.Inspiration
That day, on patrol, I was just carying the camera with me, looking for some great landscapes, with the first snow that year. Seeing Haidouk (my german shepperd) sitting, all focused on me, snow on his nose and the beautiful background, made me reach instantly for my camera, without too many questions about technical details.Editing
I just increased the contrast and exposure. In my camera bag
Usually, while on patrol, I only pack one camera (which is now a Sony A7III), a Canon 70-200mm f4 lens (with adaptor, as I need some more experience to decide investing in a Sony mount) and a Sigma 50mm f1,4 Art.Feedback
Always grab a camera, while going outdoors. And scoop around. There's no way to miss every opportunity...
