In my spanish class, we have recently been discussing Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which is like Halloween, but slightly different. I have always loved the sugar skulls that the men, but especially the women paint on their faces in honor of those who have passed. They are beautiful and such an art, so I thought a sugar skull portrait would be amazing. It took 3 hours to paint her face, then we photographed them outside.
