Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was at the Albardão lighthouse, south of Brazil, near the border with Uruguay. This lighthouse is one of the most isolated in Brazil, and inhabited is in fact the most isolated. Getting to this lighthouse, by the beach as I did, is a spiritual adventure and a knowledge of its physical potentialities!

Time

In the late afternoon, when the sun set on Mangueira Lagoon, which lies to the east of the lighthouse. To the west is the Atlantic Ocean, to the South Uruguay and to the North Brazil.

Lighting

Well, there was a mistake that turned out to be an effect. I was with ISO very high, if I am not mistaken 1600, the speed was not very high, but I had to use a very closed aperture due to the error in ISO. This error created a noise in the photo that became an effect

Equipment

My Nikon D3200, 70-300, 18-55 lens and some filters

Inspiration

I was on a trip to meet one of the most beautiful and rich coastlines in the world. This is the largest uncrowded coastal strip in the world. Our car broke down. We had to walk about 9.5Km (5 mi), with a wind of 60km (37mi) blowing in our chest, this is not easy for those who do not play sports for a long time. We caught a storm near the sea on one of the most dangerous beaches in Brazil. We were worried about the car and our friends we left there. I only went to the lighthouse because I am a Boy Scout, and we promise to always help people. But in the midst of all this, I retired to my spiritual side, and when I arrived at the lighthouse and got help, upon receiving the invitation of the Brazilian navy sergeant to climb the lighthouse, I could not resist the charm of the sunset, and made mine photo, my spiritual photo!

Editing

Yes, it was a great job for corrections of light, contrast, whites, shadows, anyway, practically all the processes that could be done to correct my mistake in the regulation of the ISO of the camera.

In my camera bag

Well, my câmera, lens, filters, tripod, not so much!

Feedback

Well, I always say, always be alert, like a Boy Scout. Look carefully at everything around you. Where you least expect it, there will be the most beautiful photo you can imagine. Run away from concepts, create yours, be persistent. Often your work will go blank, but persisting (persistence is the magic word) your work will be recognized, and your brand will be left to the future!
