Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken while ziplining in the Catskill mountains in NY.

Time

This was probably late morning, I don't remember much of that day other than being terrified of having to zipline to the next stop. The views were amazing the whole way though.

Lighting

It was a clear fall day so all the shots I had, were good shots of all the fall leaves.

Equipment

I was only allowed to carry my cellphone with me due to the heights and being harnessed in. Normally I would have my DSL with me but at the time I had a Samsung.

Inspiration

The contrast of the metal suspension bridge against the bright orange-yellow leaves as well as the depth of field of the bridge disappearing in the distance; the combination was very bold and distinct without having to manipulate angles or colors.

Editing

At the time, I didn't have any access to any post-processing programs so this picture has no post-processing done to it.

In my camera bag

I normally carry whatever cellphone I have at the time and my Canon with an assortment of lenses and flashes. I also have some old prisms and colored filters that went over an old flashes that I've played with but haven't managed to come up with anything good with yet.

Feedback

Take it from different angles-high, low, from all different sides. The colors in NY change and drop quick, take as many pictures as you can when you can and during different times of the day. You'll be surprised as to how different times of the day can affect the colors of the leaves and even a day can make a difference.
