I was on my way to work and walking along my driveway, when I noticed this rather colourful bird, hanging out on the cable above me. I had never seen this type of bird around the area, so I slooooooowly back-stepped inside the house (hoping to not scare it away) and grabbed the Nikon D90 with the Sigma 18-200mm lens and proceeded to attempt to capture a photograph of it. It was looking away from me the whole time, (which bothered me immensely....I mean, who wants a photo of the back of a bird? lol)...and while I was focusing, the bird looked back at me for a slight moment...and then.....SNAP! I was ready! Caught the feathery creature in all it's colourful splendour, checking me out and remaining there long enough for me to get this shot! When you observe a moment...you HAVE to take it! Enjoy!
