Location
This photo was taken on a beach in Koh Phi Phi Thailand while I was working as a scuba diving instructor on the island.Time
I took this photo early morning around 8 AM when we stopped the boat in a nice pretty cove. Some of the monkeys approached us while this one, much older and wiser, was not minding us at all.Lighting
I used a wide aperture because the light was very low and I also wanted a narrow depth of field to separate the subject from the background and get the right focus on the eyes and face.Equipment
I used a Canon 700DInspiration
Seeing this monkey in particular really made me interested in capturing its look.Editing
I only used Adobe Lightroom for post processing this photo because the RAW file was sharp enough, I had enough details and I didn't need to over due it in any way.In my camera bag
Right now I use a Canon D6 and 3 different lenses, a Canon 70-200 f4, a canon 24-70 f2.8 and a Tokina 16-24 f 2Feedback
Yes, my advice would be to try and get as closer as possible to the subject and make sure you take enough shots with different settings in moments like this. You never know if you ever going to have the chance again.
