Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the road a front of my husband's cottage. The challenge in the shooting was that this is a road where cars pass - in 5-6 minutes, and the idea of ??this photo was to make it look like there is no one around. You will say that this is a photo and as I take it, it will look like hundreds of people around me and heavy traffic. I have noticed, in addition to all the objective factors for a photo, the internal setting with which the frame is registered is important. I have an idea in advance of what suggestion I want to achieve. I merge with this usage and then take a picture. So, each time I had to run with the red shoes and the camera, listen for oncoming cars, put them in the place I had chosen, lie on the asphalt, "get into the character" focus, and take pictures. Fortunately, I remembered when I practiced sport shooting with an air rifle and had to do similar exercises.

Time

Since I was a child, my favorite time is always before dusk, the magical time between the golden and the blue hour - this is not even a time for me, but a space in which I live and lasts indefinitely. In these moments, the light seems to recede and, at the same time, engulf you.

Lighting

I adjust to the light; it's like inspiration - when I see it and depending on where I am, I decide which shots to take.

Equipment

Just my Canon 100D/50 mm lens and me

Inspiration

I started the series with the red shoes when my collection of poems, Not My Ego, was already in the publishing house, and we thought what kind of cover would suit it. As the title suggests, the verses are about how a woman abandons all the social roles she was associated with and begins a life dedicated to herself. This shot did not become a cover, but it was the first and calmest - here, she, the heroine, abandons her shoes and walks barefoot on the asphalt. In the middle, the shoes are already injured.

Editing

Just Basic adjustments.

In my camera bag

Canon 100D, 3 different lenses, gradient filter, UV filter.

Feedback

From these red shoes started a whole project - Steps of the Others. The photos are united by the point of view and the field of focus, and the difficulty of holding the camera exactly one cm above the ground. I can't fix it because the "steps" I found for shooting were always in awkward or busy places, or I passed by for a short time and had to take a deep breath and keep the camera still.
