Location
Ua Pao is a volcanic island in the middle of the South Pacific. Volcanic plugs rise up into the sky. We arrived in the mid-morning on board the Taparo V (in the photo) an inter-island freighter that services the Marquesas Island from Tahiti. We docked in Hakahau and we had some hours to kill while supplies were unloaded. It was my second visit to this magical island and hopefully not my last.Time
It was around 9 am and already the clouds were building over the volcanic plugs in the distance from the humidity. By afternoon it would be raining as it always seemed to do on these tropical isles.Lighting

The picture says it all, The Taparo V at the wharf, the dramatic volcanic plugs in the distance. It was a moment never to forget.Editing

Shooting in the tropics is best early morning or late afternoon before the heat, humidity, and glare get too high.
