Location
This was taken in Snohomish, Washington. A small farming and artist community east of Seattle. This was the first corn maze that i had ever tried and although we got lost, i will always love these memories.Time
I took this photo in the late afternoon a few days before Halloween, right as the clouds were rolling in with rain and the sun was moving away.Lighting
This was a moment that i got to share with my 4 year old niece while sharing with her what i like to do. I had been showing her how i change the settings, making things brighter or darker. She told me what she liked and helped me angle the camera. It was a great bonding moment.Equipment
I had my nikon d3200 and 50mm 1.8 lens. I also used my knees to steady my camera. One knee in the mud while the other balanced my hand.Inspiration
In all honesty while walking through and i came to this path, i couldn't help but feel like i was in a horror movie. It made me feel how i imagine people i one of ride movies feel. I really wanted to capture the silent ominous feel.Editing
Basically i took the photo in color, as i always do, and then only edited the photo to be black and white. In my camera bag
It depends on what and where i am going. If i am going to show for just my personal self and that has a lot of people I'll only bring my nikon d3200 and 50mm lens. If i am spring a wedding or an event that is a paid gig, i bring: my nikon d3200, 50mm 1.8, 35mm 1.4, my mounted flash, extra battery and memory cards. But since in Washington it can rain on any occasion, i always have a plastic cover.Feedback
Have fun and lose yourself in the moment. Try to imagine the scene from a different perspective or someone else's eyes. Forget about taking the photo for social media or for a client. Try to take the photo because it's a moment in your life that you just don't want to forget.
