Location
I took this photo at the South side of the Grand Canyon during a road trip holiday for my husband's 40th back in 2012.Time
We had stayed an extra day with family in Yuma, AZ and as a result ended up up at canyon later than expected but as the sun was starting to go down which gave us the most amazing natural colour display. I have another shot with my husband and I in it and we look super imposed.Lighting
We were treated to the most amazing colour display as the sun went down behind us, I literally used nothing special, no flash or special settijngs or filters. It was just another Arizona sunset but we were lucky enough to be in an amazing location.Equipment
I honestly am not even sure if I took this picture on my phone (would have been a sony Xperia) or on my camera (canon eos 400d) but I know that whichever it was I was on auto and hand held.Inspiration
I love taking pictures outside, I love textures and colour in nature and I love sunsets and sunrises for the colour shows you get. Normally I would have been facing the other way but I was in love with the way the sun was bringing out all the different time periods in the rock.Editing
I did nothing at all to the picture. In my camera bag
I always have my phone (currently a Samsung galaxy s8+) for those pictures you hope for but dont always find on the daily, and if I am going somewhere I know i want to take pictures I will have my canon for 600d and my ef-s 18-55mm lens (standard) and I will take my eye 55-250mmFeedback
Be patient, be prepared, and take the shots that make you feel something!
