I wanted to shoot the Milky way at Mono Lake last week. While waiting for the night sky to get dark, I noticed this distant cloud grow in length, eventually enveloping the whole sky. This cloud formation was the wildest thing I have ever seen. It keep expanding, becoming more and more ominous, with a physical presence. This was the leading edge of the storm last week that closed highway 120 to Yosemite for 24 hours. I will never forget this spooky buy wonderful nigh.
