This is, undoubtedly, one of my creepier images. Well, at least I thought that upon first editing it, but I was later informed, when my seven year old sister saw it, that I looked like I was being hugged. A lot.
All the hugs.
I smiled at her comment as she skipped off, and I realized that this interpretation, this view that I really, really hadn't thought of, is exactly why I love hearing what other people see in my photos. Sometimes, I don't want to explain them at all and to just listen and let people tell the stories they see in their own ways, to watch them tilt their head, mutter under their breath, run fingers over the crease at the pages edge, then blow to dry the ink still wet. I leave them to it sometimes, a private thing it can be, and then we chat later on, of what they saw, who they met. Sometimes it is familiar, sometimes it is not. And I, simply, adore this in art, this variation from person to person.
So now, I will leave it for you to see what you will. And who knows, maybe we'll bump into one another on the train someday and then we can chat about it over coffee...
