Behind The Lens
Location
In January at lake Sävelången, a short walk from where I lived at the time. I'd just bought the camera and tried to understand how it worked.Time
I went out in the evening, after work. I had thought of getting a sunset photo before and now I tried it.Lighting
Just the natural light. Since I focused on getting the sunset right, the foreground got a bit dark, but it really works here.Equipment
I used Canon 40D with Canon EF 28-80 (I think). No other equipment.Inspiration
The sun slowly sinking behind the trees.Editing
Other than lightening it a tiny bit, I don't think so. It's not even cropped. In my camera bag
1 camera (Canon 40D) and 1 lens (Sigma 55-200 1:4-5.6). What I carry it in varies, sometimes my backpack, Jill-e shoulder-bag or more often Lowepro Photo Runner 100. Before I had a Canon 28-80 lens too, but sold it. I liked the photos with the Sigma better. I'd like to get a lighter camera since even this small setup is too heavy for me.Feedback
It's impossible to get the whole photo correctly exposed. Decide what the important thing is and make that correct. I have some photos in that series that look like daytime because the exposure was measured from the darker parts. Try different angles, I liked the one with trees best, but have alternatives without too.
