Looks like a great ride! Slow enough for even me to catch. I love the effects.

Location
I took this photo at a place I used to surf as a young kid. It used to get really good but in the wintertime it can get full of seaweed which doesn’t make for good surfing conditions but can make for a cool photo.Time
I actually didn’t get here until about 8 o’clock as I was driving around looking for better waves to swim in. As the conditions weren’t ideal I ended up pulling into this beach for a look and there were some nice waves running through the weed.Lighting
The lighting this day was terrible. Grey skies and drizzling rain, but there were some nice waves so I decided to grab my gear and head down the beach and shoot some slow shutter shots.Equipment
I had my trusty canon 7d mark2 coupled with a 70-200mm lens sitting on top of my tripod. The good thing about shooting surfing/waves is you don’t need too much gear.Inspiration
I think the inspiration for this photo was the determination I had to capture a photo of the surf that morning. The conditions were meant to be better than they were and I had driven around all morning with nothing. The way the waves were breaking through the weed I immediately saw some slow shutter goodness.Editing
My love for photography is more about getting out there and capturing something beautiful in nature like a breaking wave, so I don’t spend much time on a photo in post. I use Lightroom and do all the basic edits to bring the raw file to life but I don’t usually spend more than a few minutes editing a photo. The first thing I always do though is make sure my horizons are straight, I can’t look at it otherwise. In my camera bag
I usually have to carry two bags around. One for my camera gear and one for my water housing and lens ports. My camera bag has a dslr and a fisheye, 50mm and 70-200 and I also have a Sony mirrorless with a 35mm and 85mm lenses. I also carry lens clothes. A filter system and spare batteries and cards and other little bits and pieces.Feedback
These images are fun to capture and unless you’re using an ND filter require pretty low light conditions. With my Sony body, it has in built sensor stabilisation so you can get away with shooting hand hold but I’d recommend setting up on a tripod as you want to have your shutter speed around the 1/15th mark.
