Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photograph in mid January 2017 when I visited Yosemite National Park for the first time. It was right after the winter storm hit the Yosemite valley.

Time

It was sometime in the afternoon as I explore Yosemite valley. Walking around the snow, embracing the scenery around me, and as I walk through the meadow I saw this gorgeous looking view, and I immediately turn on my camera, set up my tripod, and began to take shots and explore different angle and point of view to see which ones I like best. And I picked this one as my favorite.

Lighting

When I took this photo, the lighting was a bit harsh. Therefore I had to make some adjustments during post processing. I adjust the temperature, exposure, contrast, saturation, etc. in order get the looks that i really want.

Equipment

This photo was take with a Canon 5D Mkiii camera + 16-35mm lens mounted on a tripod.

Inspiration

Ever since I was little, I always like being outdoor. There’s just something about it that can keeps me calm, recharge my mind, and help me be myself. This view that i took in particular helps me do just that, and it’s also breathtaking. and that’s why I took it.

Editing

Yes, I did. I used Lightroom classic. What i did during post-processing was to adjust the temperature, exposure, contrast, saturation, etc. in order get the looks that i really want.

In my camera bag

I normally would have one camera in my bag, a couple lenses (85mm and a wide angle lens, 17-28mm) a few spare batteries , some lens filter, and a dust blower.

Feedback

Don’t get caught up in the moment of trying to get the “perfect shot” , rather enjoy the moment, while it last.. capture the moment to remember it. And always have fun doing it.
