Location
In Cambridge, MassachusettsTime
Oh probably near or just after noon time.Lighting
Leaves were falling from the trees and more light in this area than the summer time, a clear autumn light.Equipment
NIkon film camera, F100 model as I recall, 80-200mm, f 2.8 lens. Hand held.Inspiration
I was on assignment and it was mentioned only at the last minute that the Kennedys would be present because a family member would be playing in a soccer match. It was suggested I be candid and not approach the subject in paparazzi fashion. So I use the long lens and took on a few photos to not interfere with the family enjoyment of the day.Editing
No, just headed back to my darkroom nearby and processed as usual. The light was even so just a standard print time worked for me.In my camera bag
Two camera bodies, wide angle zoom 20-35mm, 80 - 200mm zoom, 1.4 telephoto extender, 60mm micro Nikkor. Back then film cameras, now digital FX full frame Nikon.Feedback
Study the scene. Always be ready, make sure fast enough shutter speed to stop action. Pre-visualize so you can catch the scene when all the elements of composition come together. Shoot extra just in case someone blinks! Nice to have the spirits of great photographers of the past, that you have studied, whispering in your ear! "shoot now!" "wait a minute" "check your shutter speed"....
