This is Wonder Cave, located in the Cradle of Humankind in South Africa (World Heritage Site). It has the third largest cave chamber in South Africa. The cave is much less famous than the Sterkfontein Caves however, unlike Sterkfontein, it still contains many of the spectacular limestone formations. No excavations are allowed so much of the cave is untouched. These limestone stalactites and stalagmites grow only 10cm every 1000 years so the image above is of formations that are thousands upon thousands of years old.
