Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken on a road trip to Western Queensland. We were cruising down the highway and I saw it ambling on the side of the road. After some quick manoeuvring, we pulled over and spent about 10-15 minutes watching it and taking photos.

Time

The photo was taken in the afternoon of an Outback Queensland winter day.

Lighting

I had to stop and photograph it. It's the first echidna this size I'd seen in the wild. My 9yo daughter was fascinated.

Equipment

Canon DLSR on automatic.

Inspiration

Iconic Aussie wildlife in its natural habitat, with a clear shot, is a chance I couldn't resist.

Editing

No post processing.

In my camera bag

Canon DLSR camera and a variety of lenses, which I'm still learning to use.

Feedback

All I can suggest is just to get out there and have fun. The more you practice, the better you get.
