Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at the museum that my father took me to when I was a child. The sight of this exhibit stuck with me at that time, indelibly. As an adult I returned with my own children. I took this photo of the exhibit, it was the image from my memory, as I recalled it, whether reliably or not. This was one of the first 'serious' photos I ever took.Time
It's an interior shot, taken midday.Lighting
The lighting was perfect, so artificial, like a painting. But more than the lighting it was the angle the had to be discovered. A new way of seeing something, so many have stared at.Equipment
This was shot handheld using a strap for stabilization with a used Canon t2i. I used a vintage, manual Olympus 50mm lens.Inspiration
An indelible image from childhood.Editing
Yes, just some simple, minor color and lighting tweaks with entry level photo software, nothing excessive, nothing special. In my camera bag
My strap, extra batteries, and assortment of used vintage lenses, mostly Russian. Occasionally a tripod.Feedback
The magic is in the angle. Every space has a hidden masterpiece in it. You just have to be patient enough to find it.
