I took this shot on Oliver mountain in Oliver British Columbia CanadaTime
I took this shot in the early afternoon on a cloudy day. I frightened some deer and happened to snap the shot at the perfect time!Lighting
This pic would not have worked as well on a sunny day because of shadowing! So sometimes a cloudy day works well!!Equipment
I have a D5100 with a 70-300 zoom I had to use auto focus as it had to be a quick shot!!Inspiration
When I hike I keep a sharp eye out for game you never know what will catch your eye!! After all of the hiking I have done I seem to have gained a sixth sense! I get a feeling something is watching me and have looked around and have seen deer or sheep up on the hill staring at me It's weird!! LOLEditing
I am kind of a purist i only do post editing if the lighting is compromised! In my camera bag
I have 2 cameras Nikon 5100 with 70-300 zoom and for wide angle shots, I have a Pentax WG- III witch I also use for underwater shots! I also carry a nice light tripod for group shots so I can put the timer on and be in the shot!!Feedback
My advice for others is try to carry a camera with them whenever you walk or hike in nature! I could have many more shots but sure enough the days I forget or don't bring my camera I see something!! LOL
