Behind The Lens

Location

An old house in Casey County Kentucky

Time

Around 3 pm

Lighting

The lighting was harsh, so I used the shade from the house to avoid shadows on my subjects.

Equipment

Canon Rebel T5 70-300 kit lens

Inspiration

This was my rendition of the famous photo, "Migrant Mother" by Dorthea Lange

Editing

Not much. Basic editing in lightroom.

In my camera bag

This photo was taken when I first started photography. I now have switched from Canon to Sony. I use two Sony a7iii's, and my favorite lenses are my Sigma 35 1.4 and my Sony 85mm 1.8

Feedback

Use inspiration, but always make the image your own. I wanted to recreate the feeling that Migrant Mother gave me. Not copy the image. Find inspiration in glimpses, rather it be a feeling or concept, etc but always make your art your own.
