Location
I was lucky enough to live just a few minutes away from a beautiful wild kept field, that I visited several times a week.Time
I had decided to go out late that day, around 7pm, and I stayed for nearly two hours before finally getting this picture.Lighting
I wanted to get creative with lighting as the sun was getting quite low, and it was difficult to get detailed photograph. I thought about using what little natural light I had left, to highlight the spider's silhouette.Equipment
I used no specialist equipment, just a basic camera with a good zoom ability, I cannot remember the exact type of camera, but what I love the most, is that it shows anyone can start photography, you do not need fancy equipment to get good photos, just bucket loads of imagination and patience.Inspiration
I hugely admire insects, and because there are literally millions of them, I am always spoilt for choice when i go out with my camera. I take a particular interest in spiders because they are feared by so many people, and I find them fascinating and complex. People dont often get close enough to them to appreciate just how amazing they are.Editing
NoIn my camera bag
I keep things very simple and often just carry my camera. Sometimes I will bring along my tripod when photographing birds and mammals.Feedback
Firstly, dont be scared of the insects, but always be respectful of them. Like I said previously, you need to have patience, creativity and above all, have loads of fun.
