Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken in Barbados, in the Caribbeans. I took a few prep shots as the boat moved from the left towards the sun and the sun kept on setting, so I was lucky when they met in the middle...

Time

Sunset on tripod

Lighting

I had to play with ISO and timings as I wanted to get some smoothness in the water, neither too much sharpness, nor too much blur, and that in coordination with the movement of the boat, so that IT looked sharp enough

Equipment

Sony Alpha 6000, on tripod, with an old manual 35mm Prinzflex with M42-&bt;Sony adapter (so about 50mm altogether, really)

Inspiration

I just love golden hour, and being in the Caribbeans, I could not leave without shooting some sunsets, and the boat was the cherry on the cake

Editing

No, nothing at all, I tend to like being a purist whenever I can.

In my camera bag

I have the Sony Alpha 6000 with its own 16-50 Sony autofocus lens and anothe Sony autofocus lens, plus a bunch of old yet brilliant manual focus lenses from my old film camera days, which I use with garanteed infinity focus adapters

Feedback

Take your time, be patient, be there early enough to try angles, zoom and timings before waiting for a good moment
