Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Swan Valley, Manitoba, Canada. This is the view from my family farm of 118 years east of Bowsman, Manitoba.

Time

I remember trying to catch some memories as this was one of the last times I visited the farm. I have always liked capturing sun sets. I enjoy playing with the settings to get just the right glow.

Lighting

You need to play with your settings to get just the right exposure.

Equipment

This photo was shot using a Nikon 5100 using a 55-300mm lens.

Inspiration

I really wanted to capture memories with this photo. I also wanted to stir emotions with the image.

Editing

I typically use Lightroom to edit. I adjust the lighting and colour to bring out the vibrancy in the colours.

In my camera bag

I try to keep my bag light. I carry 2 lenses a 18-50mm and 55-300mm. I also carry a flash with filters and diffuser. Usually my tripod is with me as well.

Feedback

Timing is everything with sunsets.
