My friends and I were camping out in Jasper National Park as part of a trans-continental road trip, from our homes in upstate New York to Alberta, Canada. My one friend woke me up at around 3am to tell me the northern lights were going on and I immediately jumped out of my sleeping bag, grabbed my tripod and camera and started shooting...Seeing these for the first time is just an incredible experience, it's very different in person than on a camera screen. Out of all of the experiences I have been through, this was one the most unique and humbling.
