Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken a while back when I went on a family road trip to San Francisco. It was by the mountains that overlooked the San Francisco bridge where people can park and enjoy the view.

Time

As you can probably tell by the colours, the image was taken during late sunset hours where the warm colours are very vivid. It is truly one of the most beautiful times to photograph.

Lighting

When I shoot sunset photos from a distant, and it involves candid subjects, I prefer to have the subjects be silhouetted by the sun’s light coming from behind them.

Equipment

This photograph was shot on a Canon G11. No other equipment.

Inspiration

I was taking some pictures of the San Francisco bridge, but when I turned around where the sun was lowering to, I felt that the scenery I saw cannot be missed.

Editing

I didn’t need to do much post-processing since the colours itself were already so vivid. The only thing I could think of was darken the blacks a bit more and crop in to have a nice composition.

In my camera bag

I don’t really have the money for my photography hobby, so I only use the old Canon G11 camera for my photographs back then.

Feedback

Equipment doesn’t really matter when you have the perfect setting, lighting and subject. All you need is something with a lens, and if possible manual settings, to capture amazing photographs.
