Behind The Lens

Location

When we left the marina in Liege and came out on the river Meuse, this panorama showed up

Time

The image has been taken before dinner on a bright sunny day in June 2013

Lighting

The image has been taken in natural light

Equipment

It is taken with a Sony A100 and 18 - 70 mm f/3.5 - 5.6 macro lens

Inspiration

I took this image because I thought it was a beautiful motiv to my picture colletion from our sailing journey

Editing

It is straight out of the camera, with only a little contrast added, because the camera was set to auto. Today when I am more nerdy and use other camera settings, all images are edited in LR CC or Photoshop CC

In my camera bag

In the last 3 years I have had a Sony SLT-A77V as my first choice, and the Sony DSLR A-100 as backup. I normally prefer to use my Tamron 16-300 mm f73.5 - 5.3 Piezo Drive, because it is a good macro lens and I think that it takes reasonable good pictures. For more detailed macro I use a Sony 30 mm DT 2.8/30 Macro SAM. I also have a Metz a 44 Digital flash and a ring flash. At low light I use a tripod and wireless remute control.

Feedback

When we´re on boat trips, I always have my camera ready to shot, if something interesting shows up. On canals and rivers all over Europe there are lots of gorgeous locations to take images
