Location
This photo is taken in Linköping, Sweden. The model lived there so I took my fathers car and drove 400 km to Susanna. It was the first time we met so we had some coffee and talked about the different ideas I had. It was all out there, with roses, Virgen de Guadalupe and native Americans:)Time
We started at 12.00 and continued until nightfall. This photo was taken around 15-16.00 at Susannas place. That we rebuilt as a studio.Lighting
I'am not especially good in lightning. I just put it up and hope for the best. If it becomes sharp and clean I am happy. Then I tweak it in Lightroom and Photoshop.Equipment
This was made for 10 years ago. I think if I recall correctly. I think it was a Speedlight from the side. The camera on a tripod and I used a rebel 350d. A nice camera now when I think of it. It made beautiful photos.Inspiration
The inspiration of the moment. I like to have ideas clearly thought out before I start taking pictures but then when you meet the model and the mua you start thinking and evolving different ideas. This was like that. And I liked the hair over the eye. If I had the opportunity to remake it I would put more effort to make the hair more clean and neat.Editing
I always make post-processing. Its how I develop pictures. Colors, sharpness, highlights and shadows makes it interesting. A lot of dodge and burn and sharpening Susannas skin. Adding a yellow tone in her skin.In my camera bag
I use Eos 5d Mark II, with a Speedlight and Canon EF 24-70, and a Canon EF 70-200. Sometimes I miss my Rebel, but it unfortunately broke.Feedback
Make plans. Focus on strong ideas. Not only technique. See opportunities. Better to try and fail than not try at all. Use a makeup artist. Learn how to tweak in photoshop. Embrace the love it is to take photographs!!! And be happy if you meet someone that wants to be in that process. Thats how I did it - and look now am I here:)
