Behind The Lens

Location

In a park in The Netherlands

Time

It was noon, a very sunny day, but the giant trees around made the right environment for this mushroom.

Lighting

Just natural light.

Equipment

My old Canon EOS 50D + EF 50mm lenses.

Inspiration

It was a happy accident. I almost passed by without seeing it, when I noticed a couple trying to shoot it with a phone. I got close and there it was, alone, on a big fallen tree.

Editing

Not much. Usually just a bit of sharpness and contrast adjustments, sometimes a bit of desaturation for a more dramatic mood (not in this case, though).

In my camera bag

I always carry my old camera (a Canon EOS 50D), most of the time with an EFS 18-135mm lenses. Sometimes I have my EF 50mm lenses and some macro rings in my bag as well.

Feedback

Mushrooms like warm and wet environment, it's best to find them after summer rainy days, and very often in the autumn. They look pretty in natural light, but not direct sunlight.
