I was in a jazz lounge in Bangkok ending my day, listening to soothing words and melodies from famous, Chicago based bass-playing jazzman, Eldee Young. With his expressive face, every word and note came from this man’s soul, touching every other soul in the room. When he sang, no one talked. It was clearly a time only to listen. Every time I look at this photo, I go back to the lounge in Bangkok and hear my request all over again, “My Funny Valentine”.
