Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken under branches of my grandparents Magnolia tree.

Time

The portrait was taken in the afternoon and I was searching for some shade. It had just started to sprinkle so lighting was pretty good!

Lighting

The lighting natural light. Just a little bit of shade under the branches and a light drizzle.

Equipment

I use a Cannon 5 D.

Inspiration

This is my sister’s little boy. They had just returned from living in Guam. It was a spur of the moment photo, not planned or staged. His shirt was was dirty so I took it off right before I snapped a few photos.

Editing

I use Lightroom and I don’t like presets. I post process each photo.

In my camera bag

Wipes for children, extra lens, camera cleaning tools, flash, batteries, business cards, pens,

Feedback

Shade in the afternoon! Babies with their shirt off! When else do you get to have your shirt off for portraits! He was looking at his mom in this photo. I was at an angle. Camera settings for children need to capture movement because if not they will be blurry. Children move a lot even when sitting!
