This photo was taken at Bournemouth airshow which annually features an interesting mixture of new & old aircraftTime
From memory it was in the afternoon - there wasn't so much choice as the airshow runs on a rigid flying schedule!Lighting
I didn't want the image to just look like a stock aircraft image. The darker exposure with the red accent of the aircraft gives it something differentEquipment
This was shot with a canon Eos 700D with a sigma 18-250mm lens which provides decent zoom range. Servo continuous autofocus with lots of handheld panning was the order of the dayInspiration
Being an engineer I've always had a passion for fast moving vehicles and they don't get much quicker than jets!Editing
Lightroom is my normal go to with adjustments made to exposure, contrast as well as converting to b&w with the red accents. Added a vignette as a finishing touchIn my camera bag
I like to pack light so a body with a travel lens is my normal stating point. I've a canon Eos RP with the 24-240mm native lens which works well.Feedback
Well for picturing aircraft my suggestion is to take a heck of a load of photos as you can guarantee so many will be blurry or oddly Framed! Setting the camera to a continuous autofocus or sports mode is key also.
