Location
The place is the waterfall of Brigandoux, region Vosges in France.Time
It was in afternoon.Lighting
As many waterfalls, the place is hide beetween big rocks and forest, and this one is very particular and hard to find. There is not so much light there, but the long exposure allowed me to gain more light than in reality. I processed in Lightroom in order to add some warmth as the original is very fade and "cold".Equipment
Nikon D90 - Nikon 18-105mm - Tripod - Filter ND1000Inspiration
The place is particular and hard to reach. It's also dangerous to go there, as it's not made for trecking, it's not arranged for it and the ground is not stable, so when there are storms, sometimes trees fall and change the look of the place. But the fact that it's so hard to go there attracted me, I wanted to catch a place that very few people visited, and pictures of this waterfall are very rare. The other reason of this photo is that this waterfall is in the region where I was born and which I like a lot. When I go there for some trips, I like to catch the beauties hidden in the nature and to show them to people.Editing
The only processing is about light, temperature and a bit of clarity. Light and colors where very "cold" because the waterfall is hidden by big rocks and forest. Sun was shining this day, but it never brights the waterfall. So the atmosphere on original photography is fade and "cold", and when we know how the place is beautiful, we know it deserves a bit of process to give it some warmth. In my camera bag

Be careful when going in such dangerous places, don't go there alone, and be equipped with suitable shoes. Regarging photo, you don't have to use ND filter when the waterfalls are hidden from the sunlight, you can also use a smaller aperture (f/16 or f/22) and a minimum of iso, then you can have a shutter speed enough slow to get the water like smoke (from 0.5 seconds and over it's ok). Tripod is essential for such pictures, or if you don't have it, try to block the camera in a way or other, but you can't hold it while it take the picture with slow shutter speed. Frame is important too, we like to see the close environment of waterfalls, and they are mostly enough beautiful to capture them too.
