Location
The photo was taken from the road in the slopes down to a small place called Vassbygdi in Aurland, Sogn, Norway. After a long and winding road down from the mountain, the landscape opened up and we got a fantastic view over the valley towards the village Aurland.Time
The photo was taken in the afternoon of early July in glorious sunshine.Lighting
It was radiant sun to my left that gave some backlight. This resulted in some shaded mountain areas, but at the same time there were some very well-lit areas in the picture. It was a good mix between shadow and highlight.Equipment
It was shot handheld on a Canon 6D with a Canon 24-105mm f / 4 L IS USM.Inspiration
The amazing view. I stopped the car almost in the middle of the road, went out, climbed onto the shoulder of the road and took a series of photos.Editing
I have brightened up the shadow areas and enhanced the colours a little. In my camera bag
These days I have a Canon 6D Mark II, a Canon 24-105mm f / 4 L IS USM, a Sigma APO 70-200mm f / 2 .8 EX DG OS HSM, a Tamron 28-300mm, a speedlite 270EX II, a speedlite 580EX and a speedlite 600EX-RT.Feedback
If you see a landscape, which in my case takes your breath away, just go for it. Try to take a series of pictures from different angles and different stands. However, try to avoid what I did to stop in the middle of a busy road. Luckily, in my case, there was not much traffic at this time of day.
