Location
Downtown Ottawa, there's a pibloc graffiti wall stretching across a dog park. Everyone goes there to share thier art. What better way to be apart of it then an artistic photoshoot.Time
Originally we had planned for only an hour shoot. However, when 2pm became 3pm, we decided to stay out longer and enjoy the strength of the sun.Lighting
I love using natural lighting. Working with mothernature and all its shadows. For this image i only used a reflector to bring in more light.Equipment
For this photoshoot, I used my Canon 5D Mark iii, 85mm telephoto lens, and a reflector. After taking the image, I edited it in adobe photoshop to make it monochromatic.Inspiration
I was inspired by the ideal of fashion street photography. But as an artistic person, i wanted to take the next step by substituting the clothes' important with the living person behind it.Editing
My post-processing was done all in adobe photoshop and lightroom. Inputting the metadata and lighting adjustments. Then I made the image black and white. In my camera bag
For every photoshoot I bring the same camera and lens, dueled with my 5in1 reflector and homemade colourchecker. Depending on the nature of the shoot, I might bring a tripod. And my bag wouldn't be complete without muchies, lint rollers, ties, extra batteries/memory cards, and bandaids.Feedback
Make sure if you are using harsh lighting that you watch out for their directions in shadows. You want the shadows to drop with purpose. You don't want awkward nose shadows off the side of the model's face, or no catch light in eyes. Unless thats what you're going for
