Find the View

We started a loop at Ft Mountain State Park in August. The loop was supposed to be 8 miles and I had seen this view in photos before and was desperately searching for it. After about a mile Rakeem, my boyfriend, was stung by something through his sock. Being the manly man he is, he tried to tough it out but not even 5 minutes later he was stung again. Trying again to just tough it out we decided if one more sting occurs we were turning back because we didn't know what was stinging us or how to avoid it. Low and behold without even being 2 miles from the car I got stung so we turned back and ran all the way back to the car. Upset that we didn't find the overlook, I decided to hike a little in the opposite direction of the loop on what looked like a painless concrete paved path. To my surprise the overlook was not but 100 yards from where we parked our car but had we continued hiking we would have hiked 8 miles to find what was so close to us...
