I like your written comments on your photographs. This was part of the beginning of the tide of European expansion around the world, and how important technology in the form of sailing ships was to that. Interesting to see that from the world point of view this was a poor idea. ! Still as a sailor on the big blue myself i can relate to the courage and enterprise that was necessary to bring this great vision to pass.

Perhaps you are quite right, but I don´t understand what's the poor idea :-) Portuguese discoveries are the maritime routes discovered by the Portuguese as a result of the maritime exploration during 15th and 16th centuries.Portuguese sailors discovered and mapped the coats of Africa, Canada, Asia and Brasil in what became known as the Age of Discovery. That's not the "poor idea", is it? :)

Excelente. Gosto muito do céu. Só tenho pena da distorção que a lente introduziudando aquele aspecto curvo ao mastro ne ao monumento. Não é a inclinação que até lhe dá uma certa dinâmica. É o efeito de barril que pessoalmente não aprecio... e pode ser corrigido.
