Location
We were traveling through Sri Lanka for 3 months doing 'Glampacking'. That is minimum luggage, public transport, eating where the locals eat and staying in local abodes. We were in this run down hotel right on the ocean in Ahungama a town you wouldn't really think about as a destination and every morning we would wake up to this palm tree... I'm in my 60's and can't think of a better way to travel...Time
This was mid to late afternoon the sun was behind us and getting ready,as it does in the tropics, to drop like a stone behind the interior mountains...Lighting
Lighting was as natural as you can get it... Tropical lighting has it's own beauty...Equipment
Shot with my faithful Canon 60D and Canon L Series 24-105mm lenses. My go to lense for 80% of the time... its rugged,versatile and soooo crisp...Inspiration
You have so many opportunities when you travel the way we travel to take inspirational shots, this was one of them...Editing
I ran this through Lightroom and tweaked the exposure and colour straightened it up but otherwise left it alone...In my camera bag
Traveling light with a camera backpack that can only be unzipped with the bag off. My Canon 60D a 50mm a 24-105 L series and a 17-40 L series for landscape plus a Canon 580EX Speedlite. A good cleaning kit and very important, little packs of desiccant to ward of moisture.Feedback
