A dune belt showing some of the world's highest dunes stretches along the western coast line of Namibia. Fog and strong winds are typical to this area. Usually a strong and cold south west wind starting late morning and reaching a climax in the late afternoon render the area an uncomfortable place to be. The light effects caused by openings in the fog bank and spot hit lighting areas on the dunes make this a photographers paradise.
