So cool. Love it
See all

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my front room

Time

I took this a little while ago and can't remember the exact time of day but should imagine it was sometime in the afternoon

Lighting

Very simple lighting for this shot just a single collapsible 24" 60cm x 60cm soft box with a flashgun behind the subjects and facing the camera

Equipment

Nikon D300s, Nikon 16-85mm, Manfrotto 055 tripod, Nikon SB600 flashgun, hahnel cable release

Inspiration

I'm always looking for creative ideas and like to use things around the house for inspiration. I find an object I like then throw loads of ideas around my head on how to photograph it and this was the fruits of one of those ideas.

Editing

Contrast, sharpening, convert to mono

In my camera bag

Over the years I have built up a collection of gear including a few bags, here is a link to a YouTube video I made of one of my bags, feel free to stop by and check it out https://youtu.be/_k0skOHg59o

Feedback

Just be creative, think outside of the box and then just give it a go, it won't always go how you pictured it in your head but when it does go right you will walk away with some original and very cool shots learning loads in the process.
