This photo was taken in Brooklyn NY. It was always a favorite of mine. All of my friends and family used to call this the "Ginger Bread House" It would remind me of the story. Always tried to imagine how the inside looked when growing up. The color of the stones would always grab my imagination and take me back in time. How the house was put together, each stone that was placed, put together with mortar holding history together from the past. I have always taken to the fantasy of a castle and to me this was my small castle from a faraway place. Growing up we were always told stories about this house, That it had a bowling alley in the basement and when the car would go down into the garage it would turn around so that the car would face front so all they had to do was drive out. It was a place I could go to in my mind and put me back in time.Time
I am not sure of the time of day but I guess the lighting was just perfect in my eyes. I look at something and in my mind's eye if it's right I will take the picture. If the lighting is perfect for what I am trying to capture at that time I take the picture.Lighting
I wanted to try to capture the mysterious side of the house, wanted to be able to transport people's minds back into time when beautiful stone houses were put together, showing the hard work it took to make a masterpiece that can be made out of stone instead of wood.Equipment

The house just caught my eye at the right time of the day and I was thinking about the story I am writing and wanted to express the color, the way the stones were put together, and how it made me feel at that time.Editing

Go thru maybe old neighborhoods, ask around to see old buildings,s or ask if there are any castles in the area.
