This woman is digging for coal on the slagheap of the old abandoned Coronation Mine, near Witbank, Mpumalanga, South Africa. Although their community is surrounded by some of the biggest coal fired power stations in Africa, her community does not have access to electricity and have to rely on digging for coal in very dangerous conditionsto use as energy in their households.
