This photograph was taken in the Great Smokey Mountains. As you can see from the picture there are many dead and dying trees. The Hemlock trees are being destroyed by the "Hemlock Woolly Adelgid." To tame the wave of these bugs the parks have introduced predator beetles and are using pesticides to try to save the trees. One out of every five trees in the smokey mountains is a Hemlock. Without them the landscape will look drastically different and will be forever changed.
