Established in 1988, this 132-sq-km marine park was the first one in Panama. Protecting 130 islands of the Bocas del Toro archipelago, including the coral-fringed Cayos Zapatillas, and the wetlands in the center of Isla Bastimentos, the marine park is an important nature reserve for mangroves, monkeys, sloths, caiman, crocodile and 28 species of amphibians and reptiles.
Strolling around in the mangroves is one of my favorite habits, because your protected from the burning sun while shooting.
Getting good compositions in this cluttered environment you need to work extra hard to make sense of things and be extra choosy about composition and light.
It's utterly challenging, but rewarding in the end...
