Location
This photo was taken during a great family trip to Glacier National Park. We stopped at Lake McDonald Lodge for lunch and a cruise on the lake in the row boat shown. Took the boat across the lake to explore and just happened to snap this picture as we were walking around.Time
This picture was taken about mid day.Lighting
I didn't really plan for this or try to wait for the "right" lighting from the sun..... just worked out to come out nice with mid-day sun.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 6D with a 17-40mm 1:4 Canon lens. the Lens was set to 17mm to get the widest shot possible.Inspiration
Lake McDonald and all of Glacier National Park are made up of beautiful views in every direction. Ever day of this trip inspired me to try to capture just a small portion of that natural beauty for our memories and to share.Editing
I shoot mostly in RAW so there is always some basic post-processing done in Lightroom. This picture had white balance and exposure adjusted. Also, removed my camera bag from the shot (i know, i know.... amateur mistake! lol).In my camera bag
When traveling i try to keep my bag light and carry a Canon EOS 6D and two lenses, a 17-40mm and a 50mm. Also, i'll have some NiSi ND and GND filters. A carbon fiber Peak Design tripod is a great new addition to my bag.... great support for my gear, but nice and light to not add too much weight. At times when i know i'll need it i have a Tamron SP 70-200mm lens, but usually only carry this when i'm going to photograph sporting events.Feedback
Just get out there and shoot... each time I get out there i keep getting a little better. As with any skill or sport, practice practice practice.
