A view of the old bridge over the River Wye at Chepstow in Monmouthshire, Wales. It provides a link between Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire in England. This elegant iron bridge was constructed in 1816 and was designed by John Rastrick of Bridgenorth. It had to be tall and extremely strong as the tidal range here is one of the highest in the world, at times reaching 14 metres! Hence the massive pillars on which it is constructed.
